Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

Any successful publication is built on an engaged, extraordinarily knowledgeable, and well-respected Editorial Board. The Editorial Board can help a journal in a variety of ways, including but not restricted to:

  • Providing the journal with scientific expertise
  • Article submission
  • Encouraging colleagues to submit their articles
  • Contribute in formulation of the journal's field-specific editorial policies
  • Promoting the Journal globally
  • Using social media to promote the magazine
  • Request the skilled and engaged researchers to join the Reviewer's Database
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the journal
  • Inviting eminent researchers to serve on the editorial board
  • Contribute to create a vast network of authors and reviewers
  • An overview of the whole editorial process and making a decision as if the article is suitable to be  published in the journal after the peer review and revisions.

Promote the journal at conferences

Editorial board members are encouraged to introduce the journal while at national and international conferences. Members have several options for doing this:

  • Put promotional items on display stands and poster boards.
  • Make a brief presentation about the journal.
  • Arrange meetings with scholars to go over the advantages of publishing in the journal.
  • At the conclusion of your presentation, if you are a conference speaker, show a promotional slide created specifically for the journal.

Proposing new members for the editorial board

When proposing candidates for the new editorial board positions, keep the following in mind:

  • Include participants from leading research institutions
  • involve individuals from different nationalities, languages, regions, and genders
  • Include professionals in emerging domains
  • Make sure you have enough people to assist in actively managing manuscripts.
  • Divide areas of the journal, and make sure the Board has a representative from each one.
